Every piece is assessed on the bench before we quote. Prices depend on the movement and its condition; there is no charge for an estimate.

Full service

The movement is dismantled, cleaned, inspected and reassembled with fresh oils. Worn pivot holes are re-bushed, the mainspring checked or replaced, and the clock regulated so it keeps good time. Recommended roughly every five to eight years for a clock in regular use.

Repair

Clocks that have stopped, run fast or slow, or have lost their strike or chime. Common work includes replacing a broken mainspring, repairing a worn escapement and freeing a seized movement.

Longcase (grandfather) clocks

Collection, setting up and levelling in the home, and full servicing of the movement. We advise on the correct beat and on keeping the weights and pendulum in good order.

Restoration

Careful restoration of dials, hands, bezels and cases. Our aim is always to conserve original material and finish rather than replace it.

Wristwatches

Servicing and repair of mechanical and automatic wristwatches. Quartz battery work is handled while you wait where possible.
